We used the same bending form as Parabola 1. It was intriguing to re-visit an object, coming up with completely different aesthetic solutions.
The cabinet involves complicated veneer work, joining together matched pieces of burl and integrating four pairs of doors. The clock face made with different diameters of mother-of pearl and abalone shell and individually cut rings to contain the dots. The dots are settling in the bottoms of the circles because of gravity. The cabinet also has custom made the bronze pulls to reflect the parabolic shapes and the shell detailing.
